Loved every bit of it

The black sand beach at Playa Jardín is like nothing I've seen before. The water was warm and clear, and the gardens around the beach are so well kept. Great place to just switch off for a few days.

Old town is really something special

The Casco Antiguo area has so much character. Colorful balconies everywhere, little squares, quiet streets. Not overcrowded like some other spots on the island. The local fish dishes are fresh and cheap. Felt very real and laid-back.

Perfect winter sun escape

Coming from grey skies at home, this place was exactly what I needed. Warm enough to sit outside in January, and the town itself is easy to walk around. Loro Parque was a hit with the kids too. Really good value overall.

Great spot if you want sun without the party crowds

Way more relaxed than the south of the island. The seafront promenade is lovely for an evening stroll. Tried papas arrugadas with mojo sauce at a local place and honestly can't stop thinking about them. Simple, friendly, good food.

Nice town, good food, real local feel

Puerto Cruz has a proper town feel to it, not just a tourist strip. The market near Plaza del Charco on weekends is worth checking out. Fresh produce, local stuff, very affordable. Felt comfortable wandering around on my own the whole time.

Aoife B. - Dublin, Ireland - December 27, 2025
